Rentals Market Report

Supply and Demand of Property

Supply has increased with newly constructed and newly refurbished properties coming onto the market almost constantly at the moment. This increase is probably due to vendors deciding that as well as having their properties on the sales market they are also willing to rent their properties for a year so as not to reduce the sales price or leave the property empty in the current economic situation. Demand is still constant with a wide range of corporate clients and individuals from America, France, Italy, Germany, Russia etc.

Most Popular Let

A two bedroom flat is still the average property being demanded and let especially to corporate tenants relocating for a couple of years. Tenants in general do not seem to mind whether the property is available furnished or unfurnished and the price difference is minimal.

Rented Properties

Recently we rented a large two bedroom apartment in Hill Street with ideal entertaining space which included a listed wooden panelled dining room on an unfurnished basis for £2000 per week. Another two bedroom furnished apartment in the same building achieved £1200 per week again for a long let. Therefore good quality, well furnished flats in a great location will achieve the higher rents wanted by Landlords.
